Do you feel that it's time for a positive change in your life and a fresh start? If this sounds like you then our Plating Technician role could be perfect for you.

The Plating Technician will be responsible for conducting plating and surface treatment operations on the company's wide range of components. This includes component preparation, pre-treatments, application of coating & plating materials and post processing components ready for the next production step. Product inspection and data collection is an important aspect of the role.
As a Plating Technician you will also be expected to conduct operator maintenance tasks, chemical change-overs, tank cleaning and process checks.

The role is based in Taunton, within a great organisation that is constantly developing as a business and will soon be upgrading to a brand new location, with a modern and purpose built factory and office block.

Key responsibilities as a Plating Technician will be:
  • Component preparation; including mechanical surface preparation, chemical etching, cleaning and plating pre-treatment processes
  • Component plating; set up, operate or tend pre-treatment and plating equipment to coat metal components. Including but not limited to the electroless nickel plating of Beryllium and Aluminium
  • Observe gauges and other process indicators to ensure that the process is operating properly, making adjustments or stopping machines when problems occur
  • Adjust controls to set temperatures of coating substances
  • Maintain production records
  • Inspect plated parts for defects
  • Examine completed objects to determine thickness
  • Perform equipment maintenance
We would love to hear from the candidates with Plating Technician or engineering background, relevant experience or skillset outlining their abilities to perform well and be successful in this role. If you have previously worked within a surface treatments facility, safely handling chemicals then this could be your next opportunity.

The Plating Technician position will be working on the split shift 6-2/2-10.
This is a permanent position and the salary will depend on your experience.

The company offers free on-site parking, 25 days holiday per year, free BUPA cover membership, free life assurance and most importantly free tea and coffee. As well as being part of an incredibly supportive team who want their employees to thrive.
