We are currently looking for qualified Nurses (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Paramedics to join an established multi-professional team conducting functional medical assessments on behalf of a well-established independent health-care business.
 
You would be working for a leading provider of health-related government services, delivering disability assessment services on behalf of the DWP.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse, Paramedic, Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to enhance their assessment skills as well as continuing to develop their clinical skills. Full comprehensive training is provided with ongoing support throughout your career. There are several different progression avenues within the organisation due to the growing sector so there is plenty of opportunity for future progression within the role.
 
If you are looking for a homebased role there are two types of roles you can be put forward for- these will be selected based on suitability, training availability and business need. If you have a keen preference for one in particular you can request this on application. The two options are;
Front office role
Your primary role will be to conduct impartial assessments in line with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) guidelines for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), a benefit designed to help support people who are living with long-term health conditions or disabilities. As a home worker these will be completed by telephone. You will then complete an objective report that goes back to the DWP to form part of the decision-making process for the claimant’s application.
Back-office role
Carrying out paper-based reviews which will involve sourcing clinical data from external health professionals, such as GPs, specialist nurses and consultants. You’ll use this information to critically analyse medical evidence to complete a paper-based report in line with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) guidelines for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), a benefit designed to help support people who are living with long-term health conditions or disabilities.
 
Both roles involve a comprehensive training programme, consisting of a four-week induction programme, followed by a 12-16-week training package in order to support you through the learning curve.
 
Please note- If you wish to do a part time role you have to commit to 13 weeks full time training prior to reducing your hours.
 
Personal Requirements
 
  • Full HCPC/NMC registration
  • Minimum 12 months post qualification experience
  • Skilled in report writing
  • Good communication skills
