I have a rare and exciting opportunity to join a global logistics company as an Operations Supervisor, this is a fantastic role, working for a prestigious company based in Yeovil. 

As an Operations Supervisor you will reporting to and providing direct support to the Operations Manager. You will manage and lead a team made up of Warehouse Associates and Team Leaders. 

Key Duties:
  • Manage people in line with company policies (attendance, performance, health and safety, disciplinary)
  • Develop and Manage Team leaders 
  • Promote corporate initiatives such as 5s waste identification, Poka Yoke, 6 Sigma
  • Ensure Health and safety processes are followed and communicated, ensuring and risk are properly assessed
  • Liaise with the customer, ensuring their needs are being met at all times 
  • Ensure the team are motivated and hitting set targets and KPI's 
  • Understand guidelines around Warehouse Regulations, Agency Worker Regulations, discrimination tc 

Experience and Skills:
  • Experience within Aerospace is desirable
  • Experience of managing a team in a fast-paced warehouse environment is essential
  • Can confidently represent the company both internally and externally 
  • Has the ability to make difficult decisions in line with business goals, helping the company move forward from a unique perspective
  • Adheres to company policies and processes working with the HR department to ensure people issues are dealt with legally and ethically in a timely manner
  • Invests time and effort in associates/team leaders willing to learn and progress. Ensures high performance is acknowledged and rewarded. Giving praise when necessary.
  • Manages performance daily, working hard to coach, mentor and develop those who are poorly performing. 

The role is Monday-Thursday: 8am-5pm and Friday: 8am-1.30pm
