The Company:

A lean specialist with superb people management skills in a busy, technical or engineering manufacturing environment would love this role! You will join a well established team but be relied upon to make recommendations for change in line with improving processes and efficiencies. This could be a superb opportunity to progress your career into a challenging and worthwhile role. Day to day you will manage in the region of 20 staff, coordinating the manufacturing resources to safely deliver the manufacturing plan to meet or exceed budget revenue, and meet KPI measurements of delivery performance, productivity, quality, WIP level and scrap.

Job Responsibilities:

To manage the line schedules and ensure correct prioritisation of schedule mix and minimum levels of WIP.

To manage team staffing levels and training plans, as well as ensuring effective people management, motivation and communication to the teams.

To maintain and improve 6S disciplines in the work area.

Drive product and process improvements, through continuous improvement activites

Ensure that all team members are conforming to all health and safety and quality procedures and promote a culture of proactive safety on the shop floor.

To follow the appraisal process in conjunction with Team Leaders to ensure all team members receive appropriate feedback on performance and growth opportunities.

Preferred Skills:

Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a technical manufacturing environment

Proven knowledge of Lean manufacturing techniques (Six Sigma ideally)

Awareness of documentation structure

General computer literacy

Personal Attributes:

Recognised management qualification & technical qualification desirable, although not essential.
