Meridian Business Support is currently a dedicated, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Lecturer in Carpentry to join our dynamic Department of Construction & Building Services. This role offers the opportunity to teach and support learners of all ages in both practical workshops and classroom settings. You’ll help shape futures, develop skills, and make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment across a range of Carpentry programmes.
  • Design, prepare, and adapt teaching materials including handouts, schemes of work, and electronic resources.
  • Ensure all delivery aligns with awarding body requirements to maximise student success.
  • Support learners in embedding Maths and English within their vocational learning.
  • Provide tutorial guidance, monitor student progress, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support work placement opportunities.
  • Participate in curriculum development, course reviews, and promotional events.
  • Maintain industry links and professional development within the Carpentry and Construction sectors.
  • Comply with Health & Safety regulations and college procedures.
What We’re Looking For: Essential:
  • Industry experience within the Carpentry and Construction sector.
  • Minimum Level 2 vocational qualification in Carpentry.
  • A commitment to delivering inspirational teaching.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A learner-focused approach with a passion for education.
  • Willingness to undertake continuous professional development.
Desirable:
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to achieve one.
  • Experience in assessing and verifying vocational qualifications.
  • Knowledge of integrating core skills such as Maths and English into vocational delivery.
