International Logistics Supervisor

The Role:
As an experienced and knowledgeable Shipping and Freight Controller, you will take responsibility for the movement of goods internationally whilst overseeing the people and processes of this small but integral team.  

Job Responsibilities:
Prepares export documentation, forwarding and invoicing instructions based upon the customer / partner profile and / or letter of credit to ensure that products are exported in a timely manner with proper documentation to the receiving party and in compliance with all government regulations.
Oversees and directs the importing of goods from global supply chain and all appropriate documentation.
Identifies, develops, analyses and publishes metrics for the import and export process.
Overseeing the day to day work direction to the Shipping Team to ensure that the import and export process is properly executed.
Analyse the impact of business and process changes on the import and export process to include problem resolution and initiating. Communicates and implements changes to ensure non-interruption or minimal interruption to the import and export process.  Initiates and executes continuous improvement projects, working with partners, customers and third party logistics companies (3PLs).
Provides leadership and direction by coaching, counselling, mentoring and evaluation of the Shipping Team. Initiates and works with each employee to establish and stretch performance and development goals that are in alignment with department, unit and enterprise objectives.  Monitors throughout the year the employee’s progress level and their competency.

Experience Required:
Proven experience within a busy import and export environment and a sound knowledge of international freight.
Knowledge of unit processes and operations. Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
Minimum 3 years experience in specific areas of Import / Export fulfilment, scheduling, forecasting, logistics. 
Supervisory experience or a desire and aptitude to take this responsibility on as your next step.
