This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a HR Assistant to join an organisation which combines commercial expertise with a commitment to public services. As the new HR Assistant, you will be supporting one of the Senior HR Advisors in providing a high quality, effective and responsive HR service.
This is a generalist support role which requires someone with experience of using human resource information systems, high volume recruitment administration, HR best practice and current experience of working in HR.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Provide a high level of customer service, advice, and support to employees across the organisation and to external customers and stakeholders.
- Act as the first point of contact for employees, managers and stakeholders and route appropriate queries to the HR Manager.
- Provide administrative and other support to the HR Manager ensuring timely and accurate management of all HR activities including Recruitment and Resourcing, Training and Induction, Employee Relations and Organisational Change/TUPE.
- Provide administrative support for the recruitment, appointment, and leaver processes. Produce letters and documentation and maintain accurate employee data electronically.
- Administer the HR/Pay system, including updates, to create prompt and accurate salary payments and pensions and to ensure correct administration of all HR/Pay data amendments.
- Provide professional advice and support to Managers, Supervisors, and employees on relevant areas of service delivery
- Produce and review HR reports highlighting areas such as sickness absence, DBS renewals, fixed term contracts.
- Participate in specific projects as detailed by the HR Manager.
- Experience of working in a generalist Human Resources support role
- Some experience in disciplinary investigations is desirable
- Experience of delivery of excellent customer service in a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Good communication skills – both written and oral.
- Ability to use judgement and discretion.
- Ability to work on own initiative/take responsibility.
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to plan and prioritise your workload ensuring that agreed timescales are met.
