We are recruiting for a busy role with a local organisation based in Taunton. Working within the Housing Division providing support to those applying for social housing, this role is often working with vulnerable clients who may need extra support and understanding.
The role will involve receiving applications for social housing, checking the applications against the housing policy requirements and chasing up any outstanding information from applicants in order to process their application. You will also liaise with clients to provide further information regarding the general housing policy. Part of the role will involve face-to-face, telephone and email contact with clients to help them fill out the online application and deal with general queries.
Successful candidates will need previous customer service and administration experience they will need strong IT skills with the ability to work accurately in data inputting and fact checking. Must be able to work well under pressure and in potentially stressful situations as you will be dealing with issues of a sensitive nature and working with vulnerable adults. If you have any experience in housing or are familiar with the general housing policy this would be advantageous but by no means essential.
You will also need the ability to show empathy and understanding whilst upholding the housing policy. Often making difficult decisions and seeing them through.
This is initially working on a 3 month temporary contract until March 2020, there may be an opportunity for a permanent role or for the temporary contract to be extended.
Working hours are 9.00am - 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am - 5.00pm on Friday. The role is based in Taunton but a driving license is essential as you will need to work in Minehead on occasions.
Rate of pay £10.34 per hour, plus holiday pay and subsidised car parking
