The job description is below:
Hours required to work are from 5am to 10 pm. Driving hours will be within the law, but flexibility is key. Drivers hours regulations must always be observed and there will be close liaison with Supervisor based at Stoke Production site.
Continued CPC training will be essential and any HGV driver must be able to demonstrate certification in line with legislation ‘of the day’.
The site where the HGV Driver is based is Stoke on Trent where the manufacture takes place. There is a close relationship with our sister site at Burntwood, which will be one of the primary delivery location.
The Driver is part of a small team (consisting of only two such drivers), that currently work 5 days but if there is a need to work weekends such flexibility is expected.
The site production operates 24hrs Mon to Fri, as well as Weekend days. There is no ‘night out’ work expected and the HGV driver will currently start and finish the working day at Stoke. The HGV drivers report to the Stoke Warehouse Supervisor.
A high degree of flexibility is required, including the loading of vehicles if necessary. Possession of an FLT licence is preferred, but training will be considered for the right candidate.
The HGV Driver will take full responsibility for the load being safe, the protection, security and delivery of goods, and checking/offloading of goods with customer. All records and information (hard copy and/or electronic to be completed in line with procedures.
Technical knowledge/ expertise:
- Appropriate drivers licence with minimum 5 years experience.
- Ability to follow work instructions and SOP’s
- Confident and Competent in working with appropriate electronic systems.
- Experience and willingness to ensure the safe operation on any HGV or trailer assets
