Are you a Supply Chain Manager looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a CIPS / CILT Qualified Supply Chain Manager to join an well established global organisation that manufacture plastic packaging solutions based on the outskirts of Warrington. As Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible for the entire supply chain from purchase of raw materials, production planning through to warehousing and Logistics for a large plastics manufacturing site across 3 warehouse functions. Managing a team in excess of 70 staff, you will be a strong people manager who has proven experience in implementing corporate strategies, process and procedures across the supply chain. Your excellent knowledge of lean techniques will enable you to drive efficiencies, inventory savings and continuous improvement activity.
An analytical mind together with advanced Excel skills are required to be successful in this role, providing support to production planning, materials procurement and warehouse. You should be able to demonstrate your ability to assess performance of the supply chain, looking for possible innovations and improvements and will be able to negotiate contracts with suppliers to optimise purchasing conditions and processes.
This is a brand new role so you will need to ensure correct management and supervisory structure is in place, KPIs and reporting is in place enabling quick identification of problems or emerging trends. You will develop operational plans to cope with growth, seasonal variations and changes to product profiles.
It is essential to have previous experience in a Supply Chain Senior Management level position, ideally with a background in plastic manufacturing. You will be CILT or CIPS qualified, or degree level in a related field. Previous knowledge of logistics systems including ERP is required with a good understanding of transport limitations and regulations. This is a high volume, fast paced role so a proven background in a similar FMCG environment is essential, with previous experience of managing large teams (in excess of 70+) with strong attention to detail, great communication, excellent planning skills and strong team management ability.
