Forecasting Analyst role within affordable and sustainable energy sector. A not for profit organisation, searching for a new Forecasting Analyst. The Forecasting Analysts report to the Forecasting Manager and Supplier Levy Lead. The main purpose of the role is to provide forecasts of future costs and the risks around those costs. Following a thorough induction process, the Forecasting Analyst is expected to be able to work with little supervision.

Key Responsibilities for the role are:

Performing operational forecasting, including maintaining the model inputs
Communicating to suppliers, Testing software updates to the team’s models
Ad hoc modelling and analysis as required
Maintenance of in-house models which may be written in Python, R and SQL
Assisting with reporting and interpreting KPIs and other performance metrics
Investigating and reporting on variances between forecast and out-turns
Assisting with data analytics or insight work
You'll be a confident communicator and likely have key experience.

A good first degree or higher degree in a numerate subject or experience in a role using such knowledge is essential • Strong familiarity with Excel is essential, ideally with in-depth knowledge of Power BI, SQL, R or Python • Experience in modelling, forecasting or analysis • An understanding of modelling under uncertainty and statistics is desirable • Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality • The ability to convey complex technical concepts to those with little or no modelling background in a meaningful, relevant and engaging manner • Good team worker • Good stakeholder management skills, both externally (for suppliers) and internally (for analytic support work) • Able to seize initiative and be pro-active in improving models and processes

The package is circa £35k per annum, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, life assurance and PHI.
