We have an exciting opportunity to join one of the leading providers of professional development support and school improvement services in the UK. They are looking to find a committed and enthusiastic candidate to join them as a conference producer based in the Taunton office. The company run a series of exhibitions and conferences and events for school leaders and managers and this role will be responsible for a variety of tasks including-
Research and Development- You will be responsible for taking conference topics from the manager and thoroughly researching the topic to produce a conference agenda, plan dates,and gather research from delegates and previous speakers to evaluate how well previous events have worked and areas of potential improvement.
Marketing-You will be working with marketing and design teams to advise on conference marketing collateral including brochures, helping the marketing team to devise a timely and effective marketing plan and ensure delivery deadlines of the campaign are met.
Speakers and Experts- Key to this role will be inviting and securing the participation of leading/suitable speakers of the highest calibre. You will be responsible for ensuring the programme for each conference has the right balance of repeat speakers and new names. Maintaining regular contact with speakers before the event will be key, including collating speaker presentations and slides in advance and helping brief and support the speakers in terms of what is expected from them etc.
Finance-Ensuring budgets are maintained and met and strong profit margins are delivered.
Operations-You will be working closely with the operations team to ensure conference venues are suitable, ensuring delegates receive timely joining instructions, be on site for your conferences and also oversee event operations ensuring everything runs smoothly.
To be considered for this role we would ideally be looking for you to have worked within the education or events sectors previously. You will need strong research and great problem solving skills. Ability to pay high attention to detail is key along with a pro active, positive and "can do" attitude. You will also need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be happy to attend conferences and events.
