Meridian Business Support are seeking CNC Machinists with experience in setting and operating CNC turning machines to join the team of a large engineering company at their Cheltenham premises on a permanent basis.

The Hours (Nights):
Basic Hours 38.75 hours per week  + 9.25 Compulsory overtime hours )
Base Hours - Monday - Wednesday 7pm - 6am and Thursday 6pm - 11.45 pm
With compulsory overtime - 
Monday - Thursday 6pm - 6am

Starting Salary from £40,000 - £42,000 
(Not including overtime - overtime pay equates to an additional £8,000 - £10,000 per annum)

Pay rate dependent on experience. 

The Role of a CNC Machinist:
  • Setup and operate CNC machines
  • Working to engineering drawings to produce components from predominantly cast stainless steel
  • Inspect work for proper dimensions and be able to document results
  • Working to production plans to meet production targets and KPIs
Currently looking for CNC Machinists with lathe / turning experience however we do have opportunities for CNC machinists with milling experience.

Experience required:
  • Experienced in working with CNC lathes 
  • Experience of setting and operating machines using either Fanuc or similar controls is essential for this role
  • Competent use of gauges and tooling
  • Experience in minor offset / program adjustments
The CNC Machinist role:

The work you will be doing ranges from small to medium batch sizes and you will need to be confident with working to engineering drawings to produce components in predominantly cast stainless steel.
You will need to be familiar with using standard measuring equipment such as verniersmicrometers and depth gauges with minimal supervision too.
