I am seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist with expertise in Vertical Machining Centers (VMC). The ideal candidate will also possess a strong engineering background, enabling them to understand complex technical drawings, optimize machining processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring the production of high-precision components to exact specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up, program, and operate CNC Vertical Machining Centers using Heidenhain controls.
Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency, quality, and cycle times.
Select appropriate tooling and workholding methods to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
Perform in-process inspection and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing challenges.
Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines and associated equipment.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3–5 years' experience as a CNC Machinist working with Vertical Machining Centers.
Strong proficiency with Heidenhain control systems - DESIRABLE
Engineering background (formal education such as a degree/diploma, or significant relevant experience).
Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
Knowledge of cutting speeds, feeds, and tooling best practices for various materials (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, titanium).
Skilled in manual inspection techniques using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
