My client provides Nurse led care for children and young adults in the community. The people they support all have complex medical care needs throughout Yorkshire. They are part of a larger group offering care for all ages, but this role is specifically for the children and young people’s side. My client is growing all the time, so the options for growth and development are massive.
They now offer 1200 hours of care each week, covering the Yorkshire region (you will be in Wakefield) and this is about to get bigger. The service operates 24hrs a day, 7 days a week and the care is overseen buy our lovely senior nurse specialist team. You will also be supported by our fantastic team of complex support workers.
You will be required to use your skills and compassion to work alongside nurse specialists and families to plan, assess and ensure quality care is being provided in the persons own home. You will endeavour to enable the children to live as fulfilling life as possible in their own home.
Although this role isn’t the most dynamic, as at times you will be required to spend long periods of time with one child, it is a rewarding role. What you miss about a busy ward, you will gain by building a beautiful relationship with our children and young people and their families.
This is also suitable for someone who is struggling with the physical aspect of Nursing. Although at times there is equipment to use, the role itself will not be so physically demanding.
To apply for this job, you must have the following,
- Registered Nurse - Live PIN (ideally RCN but open to all other nursing qualifications)
- experience working in an acute medical ward or community environment
- A passion for caring for children
- Enthusiastic about personal development
- Driver (with vehicle)
