Are you a sales professional with some engineering knowledge with proven experience of closing deals between £10k-£3m? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Engineer to join a leading provider of bespoke engineering solutions based in Newcastle upon Tyne with national travel across the UK.

The salary is between £24,000 - £32,000 per annum dependent upon experience, plus excellent benefits such as a generous commission structure OTE Year £45,500!! There is clear career progression for the right individual up to Sales Director in the future and a Company Car in addition!
 
As Business Development Engineer you will report into the Commercial Director with responsibility for driving new business development for the company; identifying and securing new opportunities with new and existing clients. You will also be involved in creating and submitting bids, tenders, negotiation and documentation related to the role. You will be responsible for ensuring that sales targets are achieved, securing new opportunities within the chosen sectors, communicate with customers and stakeholders to ensure the company name and brand are maintained, ensuring all customers’ requests are dealt with in a speedy and professional matter and ensuring customer satisfaction, as well as working with and supporting colleagues to further develop the success of the business. 80% of sales will be UK based.
 
We are keen to hear from applicants from a robust sales background, ideally with some knowledge of engineering. Proven sales success is required in qualifying appointments and business opportunities as well as delivering powerful yet consultative presentations with clients face to face. You should be used to nurturing opportunities with a 6 month sales cycle, the confidence to generate your own leads, and used to working with colleagues and clients at all levels. You will be confident in using Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to read and understand 2D Engineering drawings ideally.
