An award winning international trading organisation in Croydon have an exciting Accounts Assistant opportunity where you will join a friendly, hardworking team and support the day to day accounts operations within the organisation across UK, USA and Germany territories - working towards taking ownership of the areas of the business that you look after.  You will be a "partner" and build strong relationships with other internal departments in the company, ensuring a constant flow of communication to maintain a degree of foresight when it comes to business activities and ways you can provide support.  As the company trades internationally, your role will involve working across multiple currencies - pound sterling, US dollar and Euro.

As an Accounts Assistant, your role will involve

  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable for the areas of the business you support

  • Keeping an eye on foreign exchange rates 

  • Investigating and monitoring debtors for ledgers you look after

  • Managing creditor cost centre allocation and preparing payments

  • Month end closing - reconciliations and journal preparations

  • Credit card expenses

  • VAT returns

  • Producing financial reports for internal management and external auditors


I would be interested in speaking with an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Administrator or Finance Assistant who has experience working within a fast paced accounts / finance department in a commercial organisation that operates internationally - and therefore has worked across multiple currencies (including pound sterling, US dollar and Euro).  

Solid IT skills - in particular MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, formulas, sorting data) and experience using accounts related software (such as Sage) or an ERP system - are required to carry out this exciting new role.  An AAT Level 3 or Level 4 qualification or accounts related degree is also of interest.

Salary £24,000 - £25,500 p.a. (depending on experience) plus attractive benefits including bonus (up to 10% of salary), on-site bar, social events, free parking on-site, and flexible working from home options (long term once settled into the role).
