With Meridian you get the benefits of working for a big company, like great opportunities for progression and training but Meridian retains a real “family feel”. You’re definitely not a number and everyone is so friendly. Management is really approachable and your ideas, big or small, can drive genuine change within the business.
Since starting with Meridian, I have progressed from resourcer to a senior member of the team, there are lots of exciting opportunities and business wins, a positive friendly atmosphere, every day is different with lots of opportunities to get out of the office.
Although Meridian has a geographical spread UK wide, it has managed to retain all of the benefits of working for a small independent; Meridian has the infrastructure and support of a significant player in the market. Meridian encourages diversity, independence and out of the box thinking – and supports talent where it emerges. You have a voice despite the size and you always know what is going on. You are part of the strategy and you know why your role is a vital part of the operation.
There is a fantastic camaraderie within Meridian and genuine support across the business. The management understands our industry and focuses on results, not on unachievable and worthless KPIs.
The best thing about working for Meridian is their flexibility! Meridian really seem to value experience and industry knowledge and if you quickly prove to them that you have the ability, gravitas, consultative approach and drive to deliver, then they will support you fully whilst leaving you to run your own ‘business’.
I have never worked for such a transparent and inspirational leader Derek Skelton. Since joining the business he has led all business units to higher levels of success. At Meridian, people matter and the business listens. There is a natural passion to find jobs for people and people for jobs within our business. A family feel organisation with professional service delivery.
I started my career with Meridian as a consultant back in 2011 working for one of the flagship branches with the organisation. After 12 months I progressed to a Senior Consultant after proving to be one of the strongest billers in the company. The opportunity to manage the branch came around and I grasped it with both hands. Within three years I have built the branch profits year-on-year whilst taking on new geographical areas and building new teams to support me, but the greatest achievement has to be winning branch of the year at the annual conference and awards dinner. Meridian offers the opportunity for its employees to have clear career progression from the outset with excellent back office support.
