Warehouse Operative

Responsibilities:
At the heart of this wonderful, family run company is the Warehouse Operative team, who play a vital role receiving imported products from all over the world, checking their quality and then dispatching them onto our wide variety of customers both within the UK & Internationally. As a Warehouse Operative you will be responsible for the safe loading/ unloading of vehicles, manual handling within goods in, picking, packing and dispatch. The position will also involve liaising with customer service & sales department and some occasional local driving duties. This fantastic, small and friendly team are located in the heart of the South West at Wellington, Somerset. Based just 5 minutes off the M5 Wellington Junction they are easily commutable from Taunton, Tiverton, Hemyock, Watchet, Cullompton and any of the surrounding villages. In addition to good numeracy & literacy skills, you will ideally have a counterbalance/reach forklift truck license and food hygiene qualification. If not, don’t worry, as full training in these areas can be provided. Along with working in the warehouse, the role also involves assisting in the export of products worldwide, completing relevant quality and export paperwork and ensuring high levels of quality are always maintained. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the ideal Warehouse Operative will be a great team player, hardworking and have previous experience of working in a similar environment. Previous experience working as a; Warehouse Operative, Fork Lift Driver, Warehouse Supervisor, Order Picker, Dispatch Operative, Loader or Warehouse Assistant would all be highly beneficial in this position. Full time 37 hours a week (8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday) Rate of pay starts at £10.00 per hour but will increase after completion of successful probation period. Some assembly experience in a manufacturing environment and great manual dexterity would be essential for this role. As well as ability to read engineering drawings and understand order instructions. As a Machine Operative you will be: Running various engineering machinery to produce finished products Carrying out Quality Control checks on raw and finished products Receiving and checking materials for production Setting machine in accordance with requirements Completing records and documentation as required. If you have previously worked as a Machine Operative, CNC Miller, CNC Turner, CNC Operative, Machinist, Assembly Operative or Production Operative then we want to hear from you today! Any experience in an engineering environment would be a great asset for this role. CNC experience would be preferred but not essential but you will need previous knowledge and experience of operating and running engineering machines within a workshop environment. Hours of work are either double days working 5.30am - 3pm and 3pm - 12.30am on an alternating basis, or working nights which is 8.30pm - 6am. All shifts operate Monday to Thursday, with overtime available at time and a half on Friday and Saturday and double time on Sundays. Rates of pay is dependant on shifts worked starting at £10.50 per hour + shift allowances. We are currently recruiting for Grounds Maintenance Operatives to work for a local organisation based in Taunton, Somerset to provide additional support throughout the Spring and Summer season. You will be working alongside an experienced and close knit team who will provide training and support to help you learn and develop. The role will be working in the Taunton, Wellington and surrounding areas looking after and maintaining open spaces and green areas. This position is working on a temporary basis for up to 6 months. Key Responsibilities will include: Grass Cutting Hedge Trimming Litter Picking Emptying Bins Emptying Dog Waste Bins Cleaning Communal Areas Opening and Closing Communal Toilets Maintaining and repairing playground equipment Other duties as and when required. Successful candidates will ideally have previous gardening or grounds maintenance experience, you will need experience in using ride-on lawn mowers and gardening tools as well as be customer focus and able to communicate with members of the public with matters of concern. A valid and in date UK driving license is required for this role as you may be required to drive company vehicles or your own vehicle to multiple sites and location across the local area. Hours of work are 7am - 4pm Monday to Friday and rate of pay is £10.50 per hour.
