Why Blue Monday is so blue

If you are feeling extra blue today don't worry, you are not alone! Every year, the third Monday of January is dubbed “Blue Monday”. This is because it's cold and dark outside, you're probably broke from Christmas and could well have broken all your New Years resolutions by now! Dry what now?

However, what we didn't know is that Blue Monday is more than just a feeling, it is actually based on a formula created in 2004 by psychologist Cliff Arnall.

W = weather

D = debt

d = monthly salary

T = time since Christmas

Q = time since failing our new year's resolutions

M = low motivational levels

Na = the feeling of a need to take action

If Blue Monday has you looking for a new job, look no further, we have 100s of vacancies. Click here for our job search.
