Last Sunday a team from Meridian Business Support’s London Construction branch took on the British 10K London run in aid of two charities close to their hearts. Branch Manager Dan Keen told us about the event.
“When you are meeting at 8am on a Sunday morning in Central London to run a 10k, your first thoughts are inevitably ‘why did I agree to this?’ Then you have to stop feeling sorry for yourself and remember the charities that you are raising funds for.
Last Sunday we did just that. We met at 8am in the muggy London weather and completed the British 10k.
Some of us exceeded expectations, breaking personal bests and others were pleased just to get round. We may have lost someone half way through, but by 11am we were in a pub on the South Bank supping a well deserved beer and patting each other on some rather moist backs.
So far we have raised £943.10 for The National Autistic Society and Prostate Cancer UK and donations are still coming in, so thank you to everyone who has supported our efforts.“
With Sunday now a distant memory there is already talk of half marathons, marathons, triathlons and more.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored the team and a massive well done to the athletes themselves.
