Meridian Launches New Specialist IT & New Technology Sector
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our dedicated IT & New Technology specialism, further cementing our position as the recruitment specialist of choice in the UK.
You may have already seen the 2014/2015 report from REC that reported computing and IT is the top sector when it comes to permanent placement revenue generation in the recruitment industry, boasting a 2014/2015 figure of £525 million in a market worth £3 billion.
Coupling this with an increased demand from our clients and candidates, we decided now was the time to extend our offering and start 2016 as we mean to go on by growing our team, so that we can match even more talented individuals with top businesses across the UK.
Headed up by Jodie Hill, Business Manager, the sector will operate out of Witney.
On the launch, Jodie comments: “Our dedicated IT team, which we already plan to grow in 2016, is split into smaller specialisms boasting extensive market knowledge and insight to help guide careers and provide the best candidates for every available role.”
Managing Director of Industrial, Office and Professional, Andrew Pettingill, says: “IT and computing has gathered significant pace with more roles emerging as new technology continues to develop and increasing numbers of tech graduates enter the jobs market every year, making it no longer feasible for IT roles to sit within our existing specialisms.
“Following our success in 2014/15, Meridian has made huge investments in new markets and really focused on strengthening our teams as part of the long-term strategy of the business. The IT & New Technology specialism follows the launch of our Legal and Accountancy and Finance sectors which debuted in 2015, and this is just the start of what we hope will be a very exciting year for Meridian.”
This sector expansion comes after the launch of our new website at the end of 2015. We recognised the need for a user-centric approach to the candidate journey so the new site boasts the ability to learn from the interaction of site users, not only offering candidates personalised content based on their browsing behaviour and profile information, but enabling the website to continually develop based on how it’s used.
