Meridian Business Support was founded and run from a small office in Altrincham.
A turning point for the company as six trading names were brought under the Meridian banner for the first time.
A sales turnover of £42 million was achieved trading under 13 different brand names across 23 offices.
All 13 trading names are re-branded as Meridian Business Support.
Meridian grows to 58 branch operations spread over 30 locations. Additionally, Meridian saved the jobs of hundreds of construction workers following a corporate rescue of AMH Holdings - a failing business that has been profitably integrated into the Meridian Group.
Sales turnover of £83 million was achieved with a network of 59 branches nationally. Meridian invested in a back-office system called IQX and rolled it out to all branch operations. Meridian invested in a training department which included a professional recruitment qualification certificate for all employees.
Sales turnover hits £100 million, with 70 nationwide branch operations and a flourishing European and International presence. A management buyout took place. Meridian invested in support services such as marketing and compliance departments.
Sales turnover reached £110 million, with 80 branch operations and three consultancy operations. Gained quality assurance accreditation; ISO 9001:2000, and GLA accreditation for the food industry.
Restructured into seven specialist Business Units. Sales turnover of £126 million, 90 branch operations, acquired SGM Recruitment and Aspect Personnel in order to expand branch network. Meridian joined the Association of Labour Providers (ALP) and Freight Transport Association (FTA).
Sales turnover of £111 million and CSCI registration (Commission for Social Care Inspection) as well as CSSIW registration was acheived for the Health Business Unit. Meridian also achieved ECIA Accreditation for the Construction Business Unit.
Sales turnover of £109,000,000. Meridian acquired MRC, Industrial recruitment company based in Shrewsbury in order to expand branch network. Meridian launches Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) Linkedin Group, which now has over 4700 members.
Sales turnover of £106,000,000. Acquired Westaff, a leading recruitment firm adding 15 branches to Meridian's national branch network. Meridian launches it's AWR seminar schedule holding 10 events to over 200 delegates. Meridian was delighted to win Best Recruitment Innovation at the Recruiter Awards in June.
Meridian opened an Industrial branch in Doncaster and moved it's Chester branch to a sought after high street location. Meridian continued it's AWR campaign with a further seven seminars. Meridian was delighted to win Best Temp Agency at the Recruiter Awards in May, Best Recruitment Agency to Work for at the Recruitment Internationals and Best Support Team at the Institute of Recruitment Professionals in September.
Meridian opened two new Industrial branches; one in Maidstone, Kent and the other in Norwich. Meridian was also delighted to win an Onrec award for Best Candidate Care and a Best Embedded Recruiting Team at the Recruiter Awards.
Meridian launched its corporate growth strategy at the annual conference and awards dinner. Vision 20|20, is Meridian’s blueprint for the Company to follow for the next seven years. It provides clarity on the financial goals of the Company and how this will be accomplished, i.e. through ‘great people’, ‘great products’ and ‘great markets’. Meridian merged the Industrial and Office & Professional Business Units in many locations to create multi-skilled branches. Therefore reducing the number of branches per location without reducing the Company's size or geographic coverage.
In 2014, Meridian celebrated 25 successful years in the recruitment industry! Meridian has an extensive network of 66 branches nationwide, providing over 5,500 temporary staff on a weekly basis and placing over 500 permanent candidates each year. Meridian employs over 300 direct staff and fills in excess of 300,000 bookings every year, successfully supplying to over 2,000 UK and International companies.

|2016||Meridian’s winning streak continued with several coveted industry awards, including Best Healthcare Recruitment company to work for at the Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards and Best Large Recruitment company to Work for at the Recruitment International Awards. In ? Meridian acquired Catherine Johnstone Recruitment, a specialist Office and Professional recruitment business based in Croydon. In November the company moved its head office into state of the art new premises at Trident Business Park near Manchester airport.|
