The coastal city, located in South Wales by the River Usk, it is the third largest city in Wales. Yet, despite its large size compared to other places in Wales, Newport still has many beautiful attractions and things to offer. There is a large array of stunning sights to see around the city, including the Tredegar House, Belle Vue Park, and the Caerleon Roman Fortress and Baths.
Alternatively, for indoor activities, a visit to the always popular Tiny Rebel brewery, or the Newport Retail Park and Cwmbran Shopping Centre are more than enough to fulfil any shopping needs for the day. It is also not far from Cardiff, the capital of Wales, which has plenty of things to offer for a day or weekend away. For nature lovers, Newport is located in an ideal spot; the coastal city is not far from various National Parks, including Brecon Beacons, Wye Valley or Gower Peninsular.
Newport can easily be accessed and navigated, with its own train station, countless road systems, and surrounding motorway system with the M4, and of course is a coastal city, should one fancy a day out onto the Bristol Channel.
