Liverpool is a city with both modern, and long-lasting history, which still plays a very vivid role in the culture and people of the city today. The coastal city, near the estuary of the River Mersey, has very famous roles throughout history, and some of the more notable events linked to the city include its connections to slavery, the Titanic, and the Hillsborough Disaster. Despite these seemingly negative histories, today’s society would not be the same without the events and people of Liverpool, and they are a staple and famous city throughout England.
Liverpudlian culture emanates from the city, with three very successful Universities, two football clubs (of which 2020 Champions Liverpool Football Club originate) and much musical history, including world-famous bands such as The Beatles and The Wombats.
Being the city that it is, Liverpool flaunts a wide variety of transportation options, including its John Lennon Airport. The M62 goes horizontally across from Manchester allowing quick and straight-forward travel across the North West, and the city has multiple train stations too. It is a thriving city, with easy transport and many booming businesses, and has a rich and ever-growing history and culture.
