The REC has announced Meridian's H.R. Director, Louise McCarthy-Teague as one of the newly elected Individual Directors at its Annual General Meeting this morning (Wednesday June 22).
The Council members comprise of six new Corporate Directors and five Individual Directors, each of whom will serve under the Chairmanship of Neil Smith for the next three years.
This year there were 11 Council positions to be elected - 6 Corporate Directors and 5 Individual Directors.
Their election has been made possible this year through a new online voting system giving REC and IRP members an opportunity to cast their votes instantly.
Commenting on the election, Kevin Green, the REC’s Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to welcome our new Council members and look forward to working closely with them in our joint vision of making the REC and IRP world-class ‘must join’ organisations.
“The new online voting system is a great example of democracy in action as it has enabled more REC and IRP members than ever before to become involved in choosing their new Council, making it more representative and dynamic than ever before.”
