Meridian Business Support is currently recruiting for a highly reputable Hospital who is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our Outpatients team on a fixed-term contract. Working alongside a wonderful team of nurses, you will be providing on-hand clinical support and expertise to our valued patients, whilst supporting our registered nurses and healthcare assistants to ensure that we remain committed to providing 5-star service.
 
Using your clinical skills and expertise, you will be responsible for performing visual assessments including; visual acuity, visual fields, optical coherence tomography (OCT), Oculus Pentacam, measurement of intraocular pressure and other technical measurements which provide information for clinical decisions/ treatments of eye and neurological conditions. You will also have a good understanding and ability to interpret tests to communicate effectively with the consultant team.

Your Role as an Ophthalmic Technician, will include but not be limited to:
 

• You will be a passionate and empathetic individual, with experience of having worked with a variety of patients.
• Previous experience working in an ophthalmology clinic or similar healthcare setting. Excellent communication skills, to help build those all-important and respected relationships with your team and our patients.
• Proactive and forward thinking, with a passion for continued learning.
• Attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
• Willingness to learn and stay updated on advancements in ophthalmic technology and procedures.
