The Diving Specialist works within the Subsea Services Department. The department manages subsea support services provided by both our own equipment (ROVs, etc.) and subcontractors, including seabed inspection prior to and following pipelaying. The Diving Specialist reports directly to the Department Head Subsea Services; while working on specific projects they also report to the respective Project Manager.
Job requirements:
· MTS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
· A minimum of ten years experience in the offshore diving industry including three years in a supervisory role;
· Commercial diving training;
· Armed forces diving training;
· Proactive and flexible approach;
· Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
· Willingness to travel.
Job tasks:
· Assist with project contract reviews, bid and tender qualifications and clarifications;
· Participate in the selection and control of diving subcontractors and diving representatives;
· Ensure the department and Project Managers receive updates on any changes to diving codes and / or diving regulations;
· Assist project teams with diving subcontract work scopes and planning schedule determination;
· Review and approve subcontractor procedures;
· Advise project teams on safety and quality system audits;
· Perform dive system audits and close-out findings;
· Liaise with client diving specialist(s) on control and surveillance activities;
· Act as offshore diving representative as required;
· Assist Engineering Department with subsea (internal) procedures for diverless tasks.
