Key results expected from job:

 

Key areas of accountability will include, but not limited to:

  • Maintenance of the DCS hardware
  • Maintenance of PLC hardware and other similar associated programmable systems
  • Development of the DCS graphics
  • Maintenance of all field instrumentation in accordance with statutory and mandatory requirements
  • Development of the software associated with the DCS, PLC’s and similar associated programmable systems to optimise overall system performance and plant operation
  • Development of the interfaces between the different intelligent systems
  • Maintaining back-ups of all software
  • Assessing manufacturers’ hardware and firmware upgrade proposals
  • Management of instrumentation, control and discipline-related contractors.
  • Co-ordination with other disciplines and suppliers.
  • Knowledge and experience of DCS, PLC’s, Safety Integrity Systems (SIS), intelligent field instruments and networked units.
